It was a gorgeous day 18 years ago; sunny,
mild, and a long long day in the hospital. Like
so many monumental events, I remember it like
it was yesterday. Happy Birthday Sweetheart!
Now I need to find a restaurant that serves duck.

I remember the day very well. And are you surprised that YOUR daughter requested duck to celebrate her birthday...not just duck but duck confit?
ReplyDeleteUh-oh. I can see it now............
ReplyDeleteBaydog, I'm sure that for "Anonymous", it may have felt like an even longer day than what you experienced, but hey, that's the burden and joy of being a mother!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh when I saw the picture of her (Happy Birthday H!) as a very little girl.
Made me think of this recent TV commercial, to which every father of a girl who's coming of age can relate... Baby Driver
... and your worries about the birthday celebration dinner are just a canard.
Brilliant commercial. I swear that little girl says "Daddy, okay!" the exact way mine does any given day. And I hope our dinner is all that it's quacked up to be.
ReplyDeleteSweet. Happy Birthday to the Birthday Girl.
ReplyDeleteThis post reminds me of a song I used to sing to my daughters at bedtime... Daddy's Little Girl
What Panda says...!
ReplyDeleteoH!!! she's soooo cute! 18! congratulations!
