City and State please.....

While we're at it, the name of the ship and bridge as well.
Winner gets clams casino and all the gin you can drink.
And a ride with the wiener dog.

  1. Walt Whitman Bridge...SS United States...Philadelphia, PA? How'd I do?

  2. Joe, what are you doing driving up 95 at this hour?

And I thought I was going to get to meet the wiener dog.

  3. Only a short distance from the home of the Philadelphia Laser Fleet. Is the the start of a series of photo quizzes about Laser fleets?

  4. Was this shot taken from the driver's seat? ;-(

  5. Good job Joe! Did you use Google?

    O Docker, I should have pre-disqualified you.

    Tillerman, that's a good idea.

Doc, from the front passenger seat on the way to the JT/CK concert. They said years ago that they were gonna restore that ship to its original splendor. Evidently they haven't started yet.

  6. That's the problem when you have an undefined, indefinite "they" in charge of things. You don't know exactly who is supposed to be taking care of matters, and the end result is that no action gets taken. Reminds me of this old story:

"This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.

"There was an important job to be done, and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.

"Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.

"Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.

"Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.

"It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done."

  7. I think in the case of the SS United States, everybody thought somebody would save the ship, but nobody had any money.

Last thing I read, the owners were considering scrapping her again. She apparently still holds the Blue Riband.
