Foot Ball

I know it's just a game, but it's my game.  And if watching
something as silly as large men running around holding a
pointy-ended ball and knocking each other down
play after play makes someone happy, then that person
should watch. Beside sailing, this pastime simply makes
me happy.  And being happy is good.  Even when we lose,
I still am happy having had the opportunity to watch my team.
When we win, it's gravy.  And if we win it all, icing on the cake.

  1. It doesn't get any better than that! Now what do you do, no football and no sailing for a few months.

  2. Congratulations on a fine win Baydog! I'm also happy when I watch the Red Skins, but on those occasions I'm usually heavily medicated with several large glasses of Sailor Jerry...

  3. You need to give Wes Walker a big hug, he is feeling a little down and out right now.

  4. Well done to Baydog and all the Giants fans. You are right. If it makes you happy, you should watch it.

  6. And Doug, all the men on that field are mere mortals. It's just that it was Welker's turn to shine as one.

  8. Hooyah, Jints!!!

But please, Baydog, "icing on the cake"???

I am imagining you with your tailgate regulars in the Stadium parking lot (had the exact moment of victory been celebrated there), and you, in a display of discreet understatement, exclaim...

... "yes, well then, icing on the cake :-)"

Meanwhile, nearby, someone resembling you as if he he were your very twin, is screaming at he the top of his lungs...

... "WE ******* WON!!! WE ******* WON!!! AGAIN!!! SWEET JESUS!!!

    Just wondering?

  9. Okay, you got me! We've (Mrs. and I) become a little superstitious in our later years, so no celebrating was done until after the Failed Mary.
And there was much profanity and tears shed. She's actually way more demonstrative than I am in the celebration category. Other men should be so lucky.

  10. Yes she is! And we love her for that.

    Your eternal soul mate.

    Go girl!

  11. OK, the AMERICAN football (not to offend Tillerman) season has ended. Its February so I think the majority of you nautical folks are on "standby mode". So Baydog, What do we blog about now? college hoops? NBA, NHL, catchers and pitchers starting spring training...Tillerman can you weigh in on this? Hold on, Gisele Bündchen is calling me...again, I am so tired of her telling me that it was not Tom's fault that New England lost the Superbowl. Tillerman can you do me a solid? I can I have her call your cell? Please talk to her, she has got to calm down.

    Thanks
