That's quite a compliment to my old man! The last day I saw my dad alive, he visited me in the restaurant where I worked in Princeton, NJ. Albert Einstein frequented Lahiere's quite often while living in Princeton and working at the Institute for Advanced Studies. He had a favorite table in the dining room and it became known as the Einstein table. My dad, in his later years, grew very interested in science and physics in particular, and had a goal (a bucket list kind) to sit at Einstein's table and have a martini and oysters before he died. He finally came in May of 2004, had his Martini with oysters on the halfshell, then a Heineken with braised veal cheeks. He was ecstatic when he left, with tears in his eyes, and that's the last time I saw him. Greatest goodbye I could have ever had.
Thanks for bringing me there, really. I couldn't have asked for a better goodbye. :)))))
New Jersey, Sailing, Food, Family, and anything I think is interesting at the time make up the contents of this blog. Bear with me, I'm still learning.
E=Enviable.
ReplyDeleteso was MC 2 the boat that Einstein sailed?
