April, Float She Will

With the topsides buffed and shining, tomorrow will see bottom paint
outside, and Pine-Sol, Windex, and Lemon Oil down below.
The 5 coats of Cetol held well over the winter so there'll be no
brightwork this spring.  I'll be thinking of Adam while I'm taping
the waterline.  Then, less than 2 weeks and we float once more.
Good Friday looks to be a Great Friday!

  1. It's that time of year again http://bursledonblog.blogspot.com/2010/04/back-in-water.html

hopefully we're going in today - the weather is fine, slight breeze, I think I've remembered everything or did I tighten down that through hull, and I greased the shaft last year wonder if I'd better just check....

Agony and ecstasy!! good luck with the launch

  3. And make sure the propane tank is full.

    But what about the Laser?

  4. I don't do propane. I'm a natural charcoal guy.

  5. I'm just hoping Good Friday will not be like last Friday. Temperature in the 60's and wind at 12 knots? What's the best you can hope for?

  6. Good luck with the launch, Baydog.

I wonder if you've stumbled upon another thing sailors have in common.

I'm not an evangelist for many things in life, but I am for charcoal chimney starters.

I spent the first 40 years of my life thinking civilization could not exist without starter fluid. That is another hoax foisted on an unsuspecting public by Big Oil.

  7. Good luck on the launch! I just launched yesterday; 80 degrees with 10 knots of wind.

  8. I'm ready and the weather is warming up rather fast considering the cold winter we had. Must be the radiation. ;^)

I just got a Woodgas Campstove - no charcoal needed, just fill it with twigs or wood chips. Unfortunately I think it would melt right through Bluesette's deck.
