Skiers' etiquette states that before the next time you wear
your ski jacket, you must snip your most recent lift
ticket wickets. That will prevent people from judging you by
where you last put on your planks . Unless of course they're
from somewhere like Chamonix, or Snowbird, or Stratton.

DeleteTo neither Chamonix or Wachusett...
When I was very young, I'd save all of my lift tickets in a shoebox, and then calculate how much money we spent that winter. In the early seventies at Stratton, adult tickets were $11.00, and kids were $8.00. How did we ever manage?

ReplyDeleteThere's an interesting story of how the old 1857 Ames Shovel Works building, in Easton, Massachusetts was recently saved from the wrecking ball and converted into housing units by a grass roots effort of the citizens of Easton.
The Ames Shovel Works building languished in relative obscurity for years and would probably not be there today had it not been recently saved from the wrecking ball and converted into housing units by a grass roots effort of the citizens of Easton, and then brought to the world's attention by a passionate Boston mailman.
DeleteBesides snow, does it shovel anything else, just curious.....
