ugh, I didn't have a strong rooting interest for either team - but am a bit annoyed with Ray Lewis and his ego, so was mildly pulling for the 49ers. I really thought they were going to do it on that last drive, too.
oh well, the Super Bowl is a long way off for the local Detroit Lions.
Thanks, TG! I thought this post may have gone un-commented-upon. I've given RL the benefit of the doubt, so that he may put a close to his rather spectacular career. Since I'd rather see my NY Giants in there before anyone else, It didn't really matter to me who won. My college daughter in Towson, MD, pretty much dictated who Baywife and I were to root for. So she, and we, were not disappointed last night. And Joe Flacco is a south Jersey boy, so it's all good.
Your local team shows signs of brilliance, but not consistently enough. I'm thinking another couple of years. I am, however, expecting the men from East Rutherford to make a run for the first ever cold weather Super Bowl game, on their home turf. Holy shit, what a scene that will be.........
I'm not too hung on the ol' Lions, more of a fan by proximity. College football is FAR preferred for me.
I think that'd be amazing for the NYG to be at home for the Super Bowl, but it'll be cold as hell for the game. I'll be thinking of you from the warmth of my home, and the softness of my couch!
btw, this weekend I tried soft-shelled crab for the first time ever. my boys wanted to try it at a nice sushi restaurant, so we all sort of split it. I don't normally like crab legs, so they were a pleasant change - I enjoyed it!
New Jersey, Sailing, Food, Family, and anything I think is interesting at the time make up the contents of this blog. Bear with me, I'm still learning.

ReplyDeleteI knew you could do it!
DeleteMmmmm. Soft shell crabs!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was soft shell crabs that made the hooligans so violent…or is it alcohol, I forget, anyway Tillerman, eat soft shell crabs responsibly
DeleteI guess I should be crying in my beer, Baydog, over the 49ers' loss, but that would only dilute my beer, and a beer is a terrible thing to waste.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the rumors are true that Kaepernick was lip-synching.
Audibles are hard to lip-synch. This guy's the real deal, and we'll all feel the hurt he brings in the many years to come. Ouch.
DeleteWait.
ReplyDeleteHurt?
Two groups of overpaid fat dudes played a game and one team won and one team lost. Isn't that inevitable?
Who got hurt?
It's only a game.
