I'm as mild and meek as a mouse
When I hear a command I obey
But I know of a spot in my building
Where no one can stand in my way
In my own little office in my own little chair
I can be whatever I want to be
On the wings of my fancy I can sail anywhere
And the sea will open its arms to me
I'm a brave Norwegian Viking and a wine connoisseur
I'm the greatest photog in the land
I'm an heir who always has his sails made
By his own sail loft in San Fran
I'm a man girls go mad for, love's a game I can play
With cool and confident kind of air
Just as long as I stay in my own little office
All alone in my own little chair
I'm a Captain on a round-the-world voyage
I love throwing good money after bad
They gave me a hero's welcome at every port
It's the biggest thrill they've ever had
I am lost in the ocean all alone and hove to
When a rogue wave rises up in the air
Then I'm glad to be back in my own little office
All alone in my own little chair
We hope you get the hell out on the water soon!
Phew, for a second I thought you took an office job. But now I see that it's a tribute to our own beloved scribe from Sacramento. Nicely done, sir. I too hope that he can escape from that inland hell and cubicle, and dangle his toes in the briny sea.
ReplyDeleteBaydog, I'm overwhelmed! I'm nonplussed!
ReplyDeleteI'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep.
But this is supposed to be a blog about sailing, not about bloggers who pretend to blog about sailing.
Oh wait, this is also a blog about peculiar things from New Jersey. Well, you've certainly found one of the most peculiar to wax poetic about.
What's wrong with being a blogger who pretends to have a blog about sailing on which he writes about bloggers who pretend to blog about sailing? Don't you find those bloggers who blog about actually sailing write terribly boring blogs? Don't you prefer our little community of bloggers who write about bloggers who pretend to write about bloggers who pretend to write about sailing? Why haven't I yet written about the actual sailing I did at the weekend? Could it be that I prefer to ask rhetorical uestions about bloggers who pretend to blog about sailing?
ReplyDeleteWhy did I write uestion when I meant question? Is my Q key on the blink?
ReplyDeleteAt least I have the excuse of figuring out a new laptop computer if various keys are missed or substituted, and the further excuse of actually planning to try out a sailboat this weekend in defense against a rather high ratio of sailing-related activity to actual sailing.
