One Thousand Words

25 comments:

  1. Isn't that the night when Kate Smith sang God Bless America and the Philadelphia Flyers won the Stanley Cup at the loudest game in NHL history?

I wonder who the smart guy was who had the only frame of the winning goal?

  2. I believe there was no smart guy - only a lucky one.

I still haven't gotten the memo about all this minimalist Zen posting. My e-mail must be down.

  3. Agree with O Docker, I'm lost on the zen reference. Can you 'splain? -K

  4. K, these threads do get, uh, enigmatic sometimes, but maybe this over on Frogma may help.

I was the photog, so I knew 'smart' couldn't be right.

  5. Okay, now I get the the 964 words (even though, as you said, I was told there would be no math!). Following the thread, I am still lost on the currency translation of 1000>482 related to the Etchells, perhaps because, not being a sailor (if I might be forgiven), I know not where the boat is built? Humor me if my thread is snagged. -K

  6. Snagglepuss: Me thinks you may think too much. The Etchells is a great boat, but doesn't explain the whole Zen-minimalist quandry. For a group of bloggers, whose creative writing at times seems to run wild, to post photos without text is highly unusual and, to some, discomforting. Call me on that run-on sentence if you want. And correct me as well. Your aunt would want it no other way. I seem to remember an English degree of yours in there somewhere from a Univ. in Ct.

As JP said, this will subside, but maybe not just yet. Exit stage left............

  7. And you are a sailor. You've sailed with me.
And you brought more wine than we knew what to do with. I ended a sentence with a preposition.

  8. The father, the son, and goalie host?

  9. I don't get the 964 words. Can someone paint me a picture to explain it?

  10. Goalie Host!! Knight out on a dog!!

Upon further review, I don't believe the goalie was the host; the game was in Philadelphia. But brilliant nonetheless. Welcome back my bamboo shoot-eating friend.

  11. Tillerman- I'm perplexed. Are you playing with my head, cause it's working.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I try and avoid playing with heads on sailboats.

  13. Everybody needs to play with the head at some point. Most important suggestion: If a big dump is expected, you must pinch and flush. Pinch and flush, and so on. Many headaches will be avoided.

    Sorry

  14. Oh geesh, must I keep explaining things?

    This isn't even my blog.

  15. Oh. Twice 482. Duh! I was told there would be no math. Must I explain everything to myself? This isn't even my blog.

  16. Yeah, the twice 482 solved the 964 Baydog post as I commented above, but what I wanted to know next was the derivative of the 482, which O Docker implied in his link was somehow tied to a currency translation of the picture worth a 1000 words (now 482). In the confusion surrounding this enigma we have have Baydog responding with "pinch and flush" and other such "helpful" advice? I agree with my2fish in asking what the heck is going on here? BTW, Baydog, since you mentioned the wine ( a couple of comments back), you have me yearning(!) for our Favorite Day, which is just around the corner! Love you man. -K

  17. K, you're trying to make sense out of something I said by applying logic?

I always crumble in the face of logic.

    ReplyDelete
  18. That resolves the enigma O Docker. I'm back to thinking about the wine. And this isn't even my blog. Wait a minute... I don't have a blog. --K

  19. Isn't it obvious? 482 was the year that the Byzantine emperor Zeno issued the Henotikon, an attempt to reconcile the differences between the supporters of the Chalcedonian faith and Monophysitism.

    Try and keep up, people.

  20. Is this clearer now, K? There's usually some Byzantine explanation for most blogging nonsense.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yes of course, O Docker, and being a Monophysite myself, it rang especially true; those Chalcedonians are a bunch of radicals! --K

  22. K: Get a freakin profile! I'm sure we can come up with a good image for you like a bulldog, or a bunch of grapes, or a turntable,
    or knob celery.
